A quick peruse through our Instagram feed will tell you we like smoothies. What’s not to like? They’re quick, delicious, and can pack a wallop of nutrients in a few sips. Naturally, we’re psyched to discover Juice Headquarters, a smoothie and juice bar in Newburgh, NY. It’s the spot to know if you love wheat grass, Jamaican style patties, and of course, invigorating fruit blends.
Located at 77 Liberty Street, we were charmed by the shop’s intimate space. Taking in the bright atmosphere with natural accents, we immediately felt on the road to wellness and we hadn’t even ordered yet. With an extensive menu of fresh juices, shakes, and smoothies, we were hard pressed to choose what to get. How does one pick between the Kilimanjaro Shake (sea moss|oats|PB & mixed nuts|almond milk + spices) or the enticing Soul Glow Juice (Beat|Carrot|Apple|Ginger)? Eventually we went with the Queen of the City Smoothie. We hoped the combo of pineapple, pear, blueberry, strawberry and banana would make us feel like we were in the tropics instead of frigid New York.
Some juice bars add excess ice, processed fruit blends and other unnecessary (and gross) things to alter the taste or save a few bucks. Not Juice Headquarters. The fresh ingredients used resulted in a velvety smooth drink that was refreshing and sweet without being saccharine. One sip and it had our seal of approval. Basically, it was a smoothie as it was meant to be. No fillers, just goodness. And at only $6 for 16 ounces, it doesn’t get more affordable.
Going on three years of business, Juice Headquarters has been at its new location for five months. Along with shakes, juices and smoothies, they also offer breakfast staples like oatmeal, nourishing soups, salads, wraps and so much for. If you’re looking for fresh, good tasting and good for you fare, check them out. We think it will become a favorite. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 10am-6pm; Friday & Saturday, 10am-7pm. Closed Sundays.
