Mark your calendars! The third annual Hudson Valley Hullabaloo is right around the corner and if you’re looking for something fun to do or want a jump start on holiday shopping, come out and the join the festivities. Admission is free.
A far cry from the craft fairs your grandmother use to drag you to, Hudson Valley Hullabaloo is where the cool peeps go to find unique handcrafted items made by artists of the Hudson Valley and Northeast area. With a party-like atmosphere, the event boasts music from DJ Mr. Chips, delectable eats from Grounded, a photo booth by Peter Demuth Photography, wet-plate collodion portraits by Tom Delooza, and 73 vendors, each impressive in his/her own right.
Some makers you’ll recognize, like Christina Silvetris of Hudson Naturals who will be selling her moisturizing soaps and body butters. We’re super excited to snatch up Fusion Bath Porridge from Tess & James (you’ll never want to leave your tub) and Digestive Bitters from Field Apothecary & Herb Farm to help our tummies through holiday meals. And of course, there are other items to peruse, like gorgeous handmade bags from Lock & Key Leathers, one of a kind pieces from Lovefield Vintage, and the ultra-modern porcelain planters from l & M Studio. Trust us, once you check out this highly curated shopping soiree, you’ll look forward to November all year long. You’ll find more than a few things for yourself and everyone else on your gift list.
Hudson Valley Hullabaloo comes courtesy of Danielle Bliss, co-owner of Wishbone Letterpress and Courtney D. Williams, owner of Seventh Cloud Creative Solutions and Seventh Cloud Studios. A veteran of marketplaces in Brooklyn and even Maine, Danielle saw a lack of opportunity for Hudson Valley artists and makers to present their goods to the public. Teaming with Courtney, the duo decide to fill the void by creating a hip and upbeat event that would attract both young and old and highlight the amazing talent and products coming from the area. In the three years they’ve hosted Hudson Valley Hullabaloo, they’ve been covered by Hudson Valley Magazine, Chronogram, and Almanac. Last year 1,800 shoppers attended. And we’re proud to announce that this year, we will be one of the event’s sponsors.
